# Eight million downloads in six months

*October 5, 2026 · Safi Shamsi*

Graphify passed 8 million downloads on PyPI this week, six months to the day after the first commit on 5 April. That is about 44,000 a day, every day, since the start. The repository has also been forked nearly 12,000 times.

Downloads are a quieter number than stars, and we watch them more closely. A star is a bookmark. A download is someone actually running Graphify on their own code, in CI, in a dev container, or on a laptop. We wrote about crossing [100,000 stars](/blog/100000-github-stars) in August, but this is the number underneath that one: eight million installs is the tool doing real work, well past the people who first saw it on X.

Nothing about the deal changed to get there. You type `/graphify` in your assistant and get a map of your codebase back in about thirty seconds, parsed on your machine with tree-sitter, every edge tagged [`EXTRACTED` or `INFERRED`](/glossary/confidence-tags), with nothing sent anywhere. People keep installing it because that part keeps being true.

The open-source engine stays open source. Graphify Cloud, the always-on version that keeps your code, docs, and meetings mapped in the background and queryable from anywhere, is live at [app.graphify.com](https://app.graphify.com).

Thanks for running it, eight million times.
