Best Claude Code plugins in 2026, picked by job

The best Claude Code plugins are the few that match the job you do every day. A plugin bundles skills, agents, hooks, MCP servers or language servers into one install, so a good one gives Claude a new ability in a single command. For everyday development, start with feature-dev, code-review and the language server for your main language. For game development, add your engine's plugin and its scripting language server. For a large codebase, give Claude a dependency graph it can query, such as Graphify, so it can see how the code connects before it reads files.

Everything below is in Anthropic's official marketplace, which Claude Code includes by default, unless noted.

How do you install a Claude Code plugin?Link to How do you install a Claude Code plugin?

Run /plugin inside Claude Code and open the Discover tab to browse, or install by name:

text
/plugin install code-review@claude-plugins-official

If the official marketplace is missing, add it with /plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-official. Anthropic's plugin install guide covers scopes and updates.

One thing to check before you install: context cost. Each skill a plugin adds puts its name and description in Claude's context on every turn, and the marketplace shows an estimate for each plugin. Anthropic's page on measuring plugin cost explains how to read it. Fewer, well-chosen plugins keep sessions fast and cheap.

| Plugin | What it adds | Install it if | | --- | --- | --- | | feature-dev | A guided workflow from exploring the code to designing and building a feature | You build features end to end | | code-review | Review agents for a pull request | You review PRs in Claude Code | | pr-review-toolkit | Focused reviewers for tests, comments, types and error handling | You want a deeper review pass | | security-guidance | Warnings when an edit looks risky | You touch auth, input handling or infra | | commit-commands | Commands to commit, push and open a PR | You ship from the terminal | | typescript-lsp, pyright-lsp, rust-analyzer-lsp | Language servers for go-to-definition and diagnostics | You work in that language | | context7 | Current library docs pulled into the session | You use fast-moving frameworks | | playwright | Browser control for testing and checks | You build web UIs | | superpowers | A set of skills for planning, debugging and test-first work | You want structured workflows | | skill-creator | Help writing your own skills | You want to package your team's habits |

Language server plugins are the quiet winners here. They give Claude real diagnostics and symbol lookups instead of guesses, and they cost little context.

Claude Code for game development: what should you install?Link to Claude Code for game development: what should you install?

Pick the plugin for your engine, then the language server for your scripting language.

  • Unity: the unity plugin from Unity Technologies, plus csharp-lsp for C# scripts.
  • Unreal Engine: unreal-engine-skills-for-claude-code from Epic Games, plus clangd-lsp for C++.
  • Lua-scripted engines and mods: lua-lsp.
  • Godot: there's no Godot plugin in the official marketplace yet, so use a community Godot MCP server and vet it before adding it.

Game projects get large fast, and the hard questions span systems: what fires when the player takes damage, which scripts touch the save system, what a change to the input handler reaches. A code graph answers those with a path instead of a file-by-file search. The Graphify CLI parses C#, C++, Lua and Luau, so it covers the main scripting languages in Unity, Unreal and Roblox projects.

How do you give Claude Code access to dependency graphs?Link to How do you give Claude Code access to dependency graphs?

Give it a tool that builds the graph and lets Claude query it. Graphify parses your code with tree-sitter into a graph of files, functions, calls, imports and inheritance, on your machine with no model calls. Claude then asks it questions:

bash
graphify query "what calls PaymentService?"
graphify path "LoginController" "SessionStore"
graphify explain "RateLimiter"

Graphify connects to Claude Code without a plugin, because Claude Code loads skills and MCP servers directly. Use the open-source CLI locally:

bash
uv tool install graphifyy # or: pip install graphifyy
graphify install # adds the /graphify skill to Claude Code

Or connect hosted Graphify, which keeps graphs of your repositories current and signs you in with OAuth:

bash
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user graphify https://api.graphify.com/mcp

The Graphify for Claude Code page shows both setups, and how to give Claude Code a code knowledge graph walks through the first session. For package dependencies, as opposed to code dependencies, the sonatype-guide plugin checks the libraries you pull in.

Plugins, MCP servers or skills: which do you need?Link to Plugins, MCP servers or skills: which do you need?

They overlap, so it helps to keep them straight:

  • A skill is instructions and scripts Claude loads when they're relevant.
  • An MCP server connects Claude to an outside tool or data source.
  • A plugin packages skills, agents, hooks, MCP servers and language servers into one install.

If a tool you want ships as an MCP server, you can add it directly. Our list of the best MCP servers for Claude Code covers those, and hosted MCP or skill helps you pick a Graphify setup.

How do I give my coding assistant access to dependency graphs?Link to How do I give my coding assistant access to dependency graphs?

Connect a tool that builds the graph and lets the assistant query it. Graphify parses your code with tree-sitter into a graph of calls, imports and inheritance, then serves it to Claude Code as a skill or over MCP. Claude can then ask for callers, paths between symbols or what a change reaches.

Do Claude Code plugins use up context?Link to Do Claude Code plugins use up context?

Some do. Each skill's name and description is loaded on every turn, and the official marketplace shows a context cost estimate for each plugin. Install the few you use and disable the rest.

Is Graphify a Claude Code plugin?Link to Is Graphify a Claude Code plugin?

Graphify installs as a Claude Code skill with graphify install, or as a hosted MCP server with one claude mcp add command. Claude Code supports skills and MCP servers directly, so there's nothing else to install.
