Map the code for free.Query it from any assistant.
Graphify maps your code with tree-sitter and no model, labels how every relationship was found, and serves the graph to any assistant over MCP. Understand Anything has an LLM agent write its graph and shows it in a teaching dashboard.
Checked against Understand Anything's README and source on 27 October 2026.
Four reasons teams pick Graphify.
- 01
No model, and no token bill, to map your code
The code pass is tree-sitter on your machine. It needs no API key and gives the same graph on every run. A model only reads docs, PDFs and media, and that pass is optional.
How Understand Anything compares. Its file-analyzer agent, an LLM, writes the nodes and edges and infers calls "from imports + function names when confident". Its README warns the first run "can consume a significant number of tokens on large projects".
- 02
Every edge says how it was found
Each relationship is tagged: EXTRACTED when it is written in the source, INFERRED when Graphify worked it out, with or without a model, and AMBIGUOUS when the model pass could not settle it.
How Understand Anything compares. Its edges carry a fixed weight for each edge type, with no label for how they were found.
- 03
Any assistant can query the graph
The open-source engine ships 10 MCP tools, and Graphify Cloud hosts an MCP server, so Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other assistants can ask the graph who calls what while they write.
How Understand Anything compares. It has no MCP server. Assistants read its graph through the plugin's slash commands, such as /understand-chat.
- 04
Pull requests read against the graph
graphify prs --conflictslists the open pull requests that touch the same parts of the graph, with the merge-order risk. On Graphify Cloud's free plan, each pull request is reviewed and a solver checks the supported functions it changed. How Understand Anything compares. Its /understand-diff reads the current diff against the graph. Conflicts across pull requests and verification are not in its README.

The open-source graphify CLI against the open-source Understand Anything first. The last group is Graphify Cloud.
Pick by who reads the graph.
Choose Graphify if
- You want the code mapped with no model and no token bill
- Your agents should query the graph over MCP while they write
- You want every relationship labelled with how it was found
- Your PDFs, Office files and recordings belong in the graph
- You want pull request review and a solver on Graphify Cloud's free plan
Choose Understand Anything if
- You want a teaching dashboard with guided tours and persona views
- You want Figma files as a graph
- You want a graph built from a Markdown wiki
Run both on your own repository.
Install Graphify with uv tool install graphifyy, then run graphify install, which sets up Claude Code. Every other assistant has its own command on its integration page. Type /graphify . in the assistant, and the code maps on your machine with no API key.
Open graph.htmlbeside Understand Anything's dashboard, then ask your assistant the questions your team asks every week.
Graphify vs Understand Anything: questions
What people ask when they are choosing a code graph.
For giving agents a graph they can query, yes. Graphify maps code with no model, labels how every edge was found, and serves the graph over MCP. For a teaching dashboard with guided tours and persona views, Understand Anything is built for exactly that, and a third-party test preferred its dashboard.
The open-source graphify CLI (Apache 2.0) against the open-source Understand Anything (MIT), as each README described them on 27 October 2026, then Graphify Cloud. Understand Anything has no hosted product.
Graphify's code pass uses none: tree-sitter maps the code on your machine, and only docs and media go through a model. Understand Anything's agents read your files with an LLM. In one third-party test on a 1,500-file SaaS, Eric Tech measured about 200,000 tokens for Understand Anything and about 100,000 for Graphify.
No. Its repository and README have none; assistants read its graph through slash commands such as /understand-chat. Graphify ships 10 MCP tools in the open-source engine and a hosted MCP server on Graphify Cloud.
Yes. They do different jobs: Graphify is the graph your agents query while they write, and Understand Anything gives a person a guided tour of a codebase.
The open-source CLI is free under Apache 2.0 and needs no account. Graphify Cloud has a Free plan with no card: 3 repositories, 15 pull request reviews a month and one verification run a day. Pro and Teams raise those limits.
Understand Anything rows come from its README, file-analyzer agent prompt, graph types and LICENSE, read on 27 October 2026. The token figures are from Eric Tech's video “Understand-Anything vs Graphify” (27 May 2026). Graphify rows come from the graphify README and pricing. Understand Anything belongs to its authors; Graphify Labs is not affiliated with it. Spotted something out of date? Tell us on GitHub.
